I am proud to be hiker trash.

What is hiker trash?

Hiker Trash is simply a person whose passion is long distance hiking. The beauty, the challenges, the journey itself. Where backpacking is not just a hobby or a sport but a lifestyle.

It is a pejorative term in the same way ski bum or river rat. A term that seems to be an insult but is taken up with pride.

What's not to be proud about? Being able to see the wilderness in its most raw and beautiful. Where everyday there is something new on the horizon and life is lived at its most simple and rewarding.

A 2009 AT hopeful named "Cuffs" was kind enough to forward on this cool looking avatar to me.

I love it! I just might have to make a sticker out of it...
